A Life in Music—From Carnegie Hall to Broadway and Beyond


Jonathan Long is a native of Baltimore, Md. He studied music at Peabody Conservatory and Indiana University and studied voice with Ms. Eileen Farrell and Mr. Walter Cassel. He has been tenor soloist here at the Community Church of New York for the past 30 years. He sang his first solo recital at Carnegie Hall in 2003.
His diverse career began singing and dancing at Radio City Music Hall with Sandy Duncan, Marge Champion and Bill Erwin; Off –Broadway as “Jinx” in Forever Plaid;’Candy is Dandy’ with Ed Hermann for Lucille Lortel at the White Barn Theater; ‘Afternoon Operetta’ director Donald Pippin, lead vocalist at the famed Roseland Ballroom with the Allen Russell Big Band; featured vocalist for the Long island Pops at Tilles Center for the Arts; entertainer for the Canadian Government in Alberta, Canada; sang and danced at the Aladdin and Flamingo Hotels in Las Vegas; featured singer for the National Broadcasting Hall of Fame awards honoring Mr. Frank Sinatra; a principle actor in television commercials for Nabisco with Sandy Duncan and Jason Alexander. He has performed his show “Tenor Moments” for the Distinguished Artist Series of Long Island and the Metropolitan Room in NYC.
